The people of Kibibi Town Council in Butambala District will have a decent market place to go to after the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) offered to support the upgrade of Kibibi market following a request by the area local authority’s

People in this place have for long had to buy things scattered around in a disorganized manner since there are no any reasonable stalls for sellers to organize their merchandise.

According to Hajj Ssengoma Abdul, the Chairman of Kibibi Market Vendors Group, the situation always goes out of hand especially during the rainy seasons as the traders’ merchandise is destroyed in the process. There was therefore need to seek for support from different people to have this market upgraded.

The IRA CEO Alhaj Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega while handing over the Authority’s support on form of cash totaling to Ush28,926,000 (Twenty-eight million nine hundred and twenty-six thousand shillings) emphasized the need to ensure that this money is put to the rightful use so that the objective of having a decent market place can be achieved.
